They're commonly used to absorb vibration, absorb energy of sudden impulses, and act as a mechanical damper for machinery. They're primarily used to reduce the noise associated with such vibrations from HVAC units, industrial power generators, projectors, lawnmower seats, appliances, computers fans, air compressors, HVAC compressors, garage motor door openers, diesel and small engines to name a few.
These are also called Anti-Vibration Mounts, Shock Mounts, Vibration Dampers, and Vibration Reducers to name a few. These mounts are made of rubber and steel.
